Where the data comes from

Observes builds on public sources, recorded with full provenance:

• Companies House bulk data product — the monthly snapshot of live companies. Current snapshot: compiled to 31 August 2026. Licensed under the Open Government Licence v3.0.
• Companies House streaming API — continuous change events, watched since 30 August 2026. Same licence.
• Companies' own public websites — fetched by our crawler within the policy it publishes.

Register data is a snapshot of what was filed, not verified truth — Companies House does not verify filings, and neither do we pretend it does. Every value we hold carries its source, a defined confidence band, and both of its dates: when it became true and when we saw it.

Observes is independent of and unaffiliated with Companies House; use of the data implies no official status or endorsement.
